Reasons and solutions for uneven base color of garment bags
Uneven background color in garment bags refers to irregular spots or specks of varying shades appearing in large areas of spot color. Background colors with gradient transitions are often prone to uneven ink scraping, while specks often appear on background colors without gradient transitions. Therefore, uneven background color is divided into: uneven ink scraping in background color and specks in background color.

Below, Shunxingyuan Packaging, a professional flexible packaging manufacturer, will explain the reasons and solutions for uneven background color in garment bags, combining some pain points new customers encounter when seeking packaging upgrades.
I. Uneven ink scraping in background color

Abnormal reasons:
1. Ink viscosity is too high;
2. Poor ink fluidity;
3. The paper guide on the back of the doctor blade holder is too long, leading to reduced ink fluidity;
4. Too much residual ink;
5. The doctor blade is not installed flat, with wavy gaps between it and the backing blade;
6. Printing dots are slightly blocked.
Solutions:
1. Appropriately reduce ink viscosity;
2. Replace with ink that has good fluidity;
3. Check if the printing plate is too close to the bottom of the ink trough? Is the back paper guide curled or warped, hindering ink fluidity? Appropriate improvements should be made as necessary;
4. Replace with new ink;
5. Check for foreign matter between the doctor blade and the backing blade, remove it, and reinstall the doctor blade. Replace with a new blade if necessary;
6. Use a lint-free cloth dipped in ink to vigorously wipe the plate, so that all printing dots are printed out (Note: Solvents or scouring powder can also be used to wipe the plate, but because the wiped areas are prone to abnormal fading of printing text and images over a dozen meters, strip markers are needed for inspection and removal. Generally, it is not recommended to use solvents or scouring powder to wipe the plate during printing).
II. Specks in background color

Abnormal reasons:
1. Ink viscosity is too low;
2. Printing speed is too slow;
3. Impression cylinder hardness is too low;
4. Doctor blade is too flat (angle too small);
5. Printing plate dots are too deep (extremely low probability).
Solutions:
1. Appropriately increase ink viscosity;
2. Appropriately increase printing speed;
3. Replace with an impression cylinder of higher hardness;
4. Increase the doctor blade angle;
5. Remake the printing plate.
