Reference standard for 12 PE plastic bags
PE plastic bags are made by selecting film-grade polyethylene pellets and processing them through blow molding or casting methods. With social development, PE plastic bags are occupying an increasing market share, widely used in various industries such as clothing and apparel, hardware machinery, electronic toys, logistics and express delivery, furniture and home appliances, food and chemicals. These products bring great convenience to people's lives.

Below, Shunxingyuan Packaging, a professional flexible packaging manufacturer, will interpret the 13 reference standards for PE plastic bags.
1. Protection Function
As a packaging bag, the protective function of PE plastic bags for goods is the most important and fundamental function. If a PE plastic bag does not provide reliable protection for the packaged goods, leading to damage or devaluation, then it loses its value as a packaging bag. The protective function of PE plastic bags for goods is multifaceted; different goods and different packaging forms have varying emphases on the required protective functions of PE plastic bags.
2. Mechanical Protection
Prevents leakage of packaged goods or damage and contamination of goods by external substances entering the packaging. Performance indicators directly reflecting the mechanical protective function of PE plastic bags mainly include the mechanical strength of PE plastic bags, such as tensile strength, tear strength, drop impact strength (drop weight impact ) and puncture resistance, etc.
3. Good Welding Strength
If the weld strength is insufficient, the weld will become the fatal weakness of the PE plastic bag, and the PE plastic bag will lose its protective effect on the goods due to weld rupture.
4. Barrier Properties
Barrier properties refer to the ability of PE plastic bags to prevent gases like oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen, as well as substances like aromas and water vapor, from permeating. When the scope is not specified, it generally refers to the barrier against non-polar gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. The display effect of PE plastic bags on goods is closely related to the film's transmittance, haze, gloss, antistatic properties, and printability, requiring attention to sufficient light transmittance and haze.
5. Light Transmittance and Haze
Light transmittance and haze are important indicators that determine the visibility and clarity of packaged goods and greatly influence their display effect. Both light transmittance and haze are expressed as percentages. A higher light transmittance value indicates better transparency of the PE plastic bag; a higher haze value indicates greater turbidity when observing an object through the PE plastic bag, meaning poorer clarity.
6. Gloss
Gloss indicates the reflective ability of PE plastic bags under light, expressed as a percentage of the sample's light reflection brightness in the specular direction relative to a standard surface.

7. Antistatic Property
With the rapid development of the electronics industry, the integration level of electronic circuit boards is increasing. Packaging products with antistatic PE plastic bags can prevent electrostatic damage to integrated circuits.
8. Good Smoothness
Good smoothness facilitates the smooth movement of PE plastic bags on the packaging production line during packaging, preventing damage due to excessive resistance during movement, and also achieving easy opening characteristics.
9. High-Temperature Resistance
The high and low-temperature resistance of PE plastic bags is often a necessary consideration.
10. Hygiene Performance
When packaging food or pharmaceuticals, the selected PE plastic bags must have good hygienic properties and comply with relevant national hygiene standards to ensure that the PE plastic bags do not contaminate the packaged goods.
11. Airtightness
Good airtightness can effectively prevent the exchange of gases inside and outside the packaging container, which is essential for most products.
12. Moisture Resistance
Good moisture resistance is an effective means of protecting goods. Generally, the moisture resistance of PE plastic bags increases with thickness and decreases with lower temperatures.
