2、 PLA Material Synthesis Process
1. Preparation of PLA Monomer Raw Materials
The monomer raw material for PLA is lactic acid. It is generally obtained by crushing shelled crops like corn, extracting starch from them, and then converting the starch into unrefined glucose. Subsequently, glucose is fermented in a manner similar to producing beer or alcohol, and finally, lactic acid monomer is obtained through a purification process.

2. PLA Polymerization Methods
There are two main methods for PLA synthesis: direct polycondensation of lactic acid and ring-opening polymerization of lactide (also known as the two-step method). Among these, the two-step method is the most commonly used. Its process involves first obtaining lactide (LA) by vacuum distillation of lactic acid, and then reacting lactide as a monomer under conditions of initiator, high temperature, and high vacuum for several hours to produce PLA.

3、 PLA Material Properties and Processing Technology
PLA is a pale yellow transparent solid with good thermal stability. Its processing temperature is 170-230℃. It has good solvent resistance and can be processed in various ways, such as extrusion, spinning, biaxial stretching, and injection blow molding.
