1 What are certified recycled plastic bags?

Global Recycled Standard Certification GRS （ Global Recycled Standard ）is an international, voluntary, and comprehensive product standard that specifies third-party certification requirements for recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.

Certified recycled plastic bags are made from plastic materials diverted during manufacturing and from plastic materials produced by household, commercial, and industrial facilities. These materials undergo recycling, sorting, cleaning, granulation, film blowing, printing, and bag making processes to produce plastic materials and plastic bags. This achieves circular regeneration and reuse, effectively reducing the extraction of new plastic pellets from petroleum. This allows for the reuse of existing plastic materials while meeting human packaging needs, continuously using and recycling, in a cyclical process that does not increase the existing amount of plastic on Earth, reducing energy consumption and pollution from plastic pellet production, and reducing resource waste and pollution from incinerating plastic bags.

2 Three main types of recycled plastic bags
