This year's ban on plastics has largely promoted the development of the biodegradable plastic bag industry.   Differences between Biodegradable Plastic Bags and Non-Biodegradable Plastic Bags

1. Different materials. Biodegradable plastic bags (i.e., eco-friendly plastic bags) use polymer materials such as PLA, PHAs, PBA, PBS, while non-biodegradable traditional plastic bags are PE and other traditional plastic materials.  

2. Different production standards. Biodegradable plastic bags need to comply with national standard GB/T21661-2008, which has met environmental standards. Traditional non-biodegradable plastic bags do not need to comply with this standard. 

3. Different decomposition times. Biodegradable plastic bags can generally decompose within one year, and eco-friendly plastic bags can even start to decompose 72 days after being discarded. Non-biodegradable plastic bags, however, require 200 years to decompose.

Biodegradable plastic bags have their advantages over traditional plastic bags in terms of performance, practicality, degradability, and safety.

In terms of performance, biodegradable plastic bags can achieve or even exceed the performance of traditional plastic bags in certain specific areas;

In terms of practicality, biodegradable plastic bags have similar application and hygiene performance to traditional plastics of the same type.

In terms of degradability, after use, biodegradable plastic bags can degrade relatively quickly in natural environments (specific microorganisms, temperature, humidity), becoming fragments or non-toxic gases that are easily utilized by the environment, reducing their impact on the environment.

In terms of safety, the substances produced or remaining during the degradation process of biodegradable plastic bags are harmless to the environment and will not affect the survival of humans and other organisms.
