Selection and Precautions for Vacuum Packaging Bags
When it comes to vacuum packaging bags, the first thing we need to discuss is the material of the vacuum packaging bag. The following are the characteristics of various materials suitable for vacuum packaging: PE is suitable for low-temperature use; RCPP is suitable for high-temperature sterilization; PA is used to increase physical strength and puncture resistance; AL aluminum foil is used to increase barrier properties and light shielding; PET increases mechanical strength and makes the shape more rigid; EVOH has high barrier properties. Then, according to the needs, various properties are combined. There are also transparent ones, and a water-resistant PVA high-barrier coating is used to increase barrier properties.
Different products require different vacuum packaging bags. Shunxingyuan Packaging, a professional flexible packaging manufacturer, will provide you with a detailed explanation and classification.
I. Food Vacuum Packaging Bags
1. High-Temperature Sterilization Bags

Material: NY / PE, NY / AL / RCPP, KNY / PE
Suitable for: various cooked meats, high-temperature sterilized foods, curry, etc.
Product Characteristics
Moisture-proof, temperature-resistant, light-shielding, aroma-preserving, strong and tough
High-temperature sterilization bags (also known as Retort Pouch, abbreviated as RP) are composite plastic film bags that can be heat-treated. They combine the advantages of canned containers and boiling water-resistant plastic bags. Over a decade of use has proven them to be an ideal packaging container. Retort pouches sold by Toyo Seikan Co., Ltd. in Japan, those containing aluminum foil are called RP-F (withstands 135℃), and those without aluminum foil, transparent multilayer composite bags are called RP-T and RR-N (withstands 120℃). European and American countries call this type of bag a "soft can" (Flexible Can or Soft Can).
Sterilization bags are mostly made of three layers of heat-resistant materials. A representative sterilization bag structure is: the outer layer is a polyester film for reinforcement; the middle layer is aluminum foil for light, moisture, and gas barrier; the inner layer is a polyolefin material (such as polypropylene film) for heat sealing and food contact.
2. Water-Boiling Bags

Material: PET / PE BOPA / PE PET / AL / PE
Product Characteristics
Able to withstand sterilization treatment at temperatures not exceeding 106℃, without delamination or leakage.
High heat sealing strength, good puncture resistance, and high impact strength.
Good printability, beautiful printing.
Good oil resistance.
3. Transparent Vacuum Bags

The most commonly used transparent vacuum bags are mainly divided into the following types:
1. Co-extruded Nylon Vacuum Bags
PA/PA/EVOH/PA/PE; PP/PA/EVOH/PA/PE; PE/PA/PE
Product Characteristics
A. Excellent puncture resistance, ideal vacuuming effect, high cost performance;
B. Can withstand -20℃ freezing, with high oxygen and moisture barrier performance
C. Clean, harmless, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and safe.
D. Transparent and beautiful
E. Wide applicability. Suitable for small individual parts to large entire equipment.
F. Good printability, which helps to improve the image and grade of the vacuum-packed items.
Precautions
A. Avoid direct sunlight, avoid contact with fire and corrosive substances.
B. Adjust the sealing temperature on the vacuum packaging machine to 180-200 degrees Celsius. During the vacuuming process, pay attention to adjusting the temperature appropriately and lowering the pressure to avoid leakage due to excessive dryness.
2. Composite Nylon Vacuum Bags
PA/PE; PA/RCPP; PET/PE; PET/RCPP
Composite nylon vacuum bags are the most widely used vacuum bags on the market because they were the first to enter the market, and those who initially used vacuum bags used composite nylon vacuum bags. Nylon composite bags are layered together using a laminator, requiring the addition of adhesive. However, because of this, the biggest drawback of nylon composite bags is that in dry weather, especially in winter, the rate of vacuum breakage is much higher.
3. PE Vacuum Bags
PE bags, as the most widely used plastic film bags, do not have the same extensibility and toughness as nylon, making them less suitable for vacuuming. However, compared to other materials, PE bags are cheaper, and for customers whose vacuum requirements are not very high, PE bags can be used for vacuuming, but the breakage and leakage rates are also relatively high.
II. Electronic Product Vacuum Packaging Bags
Anti-Static Vacuum Composite Bags

Material: NY/CPE, PET/NY/CPE, PET/CPP, PET/AL/NY/PE
Suitable for: precision electronic parts semi-finished products, flammable chemicals, gunpowder, test samples, instruments, test induction
Product Characteristics
Low oxygen permeability, good moisture resistance, static dissipation, high tensile strength and puncture resistance
Good vacuuming effect, high transparency
Easy heat sealing, good sealing, not easy to age
Some electronic products (such as FPGA chips) are very sensitive to static electricity. Anti-static vacuum bags are a type of composite flexible packaging that can maximize the protection of electrostatic sensitive components from potential electrostatic hazards. Their unique structure can create an "induction shield" effect to isolate the contents of the bag from the electrostatic field. If electronic components are placed directly on a wooden table, and the wooden table has static electricity, instantaneous discharge will damage the electronic components, making anti-static packaging very necessary.
Additionally, the innermost layer is made of static-dissipative vinyl, offering excellent anti-static properties, allowing for slow and safe discharge of static fields. This heat-sealable bag is semi-transparent, convenient for observation, and does not interfere with the reading of product barcodes. Surface resistance value: 10^8 to 11 Ω. Anti-static vacuum bags are made of static-dissipative materials, with a resistance of approximately 10^6 to 10^10, which can effectively reduce the intensity of electrostatic discharge and prevent electronic components from being damaged by static electricity.
